Convert HEIC to JPG
iPhones and iPads save photos as HEIC by default, but most Windows apps, older Android phones and web forms still can't open it without a codec pack.
When you'd use this
You AirDropped or emailed a photo from an iPhone and the recipient on Windows sees a blank icon or a "can't open this file" error.
Worth knowing
HEIC uses HEVC compression, so a converted JPG is usually 2-3x larger on disk for the same visual quality — that's the format doing its job, not a bug in the converter.
